Facilities Maintenance Person, Shipyard Environment
The qualified candidate will have extensive knowledge of facilities and job site equipment operation and maintenance. Facilities/job site equipment includes (but is not limited to) compressors, generators, pumps, forklifts, backhoes, saws, lathes, mills, presses, shears, brakes, etc.
Job Description:
Perform scheduled maintenance on facilities and jobsite equipment using manufacturer’s blueprints and technical manuals.
Perform minor, routine maintenance on the company’s rolling stock to include trailers, flatbeds, trucks, vehicles and forklifts.
Perform routine maintenance on the inside machine shop’s fabrication equipment including mills, lathes, saws, etc.
Perform routine maintenance on the sheet metal shop’s equipment including brakes, shears and other metal forming equipment.
Perform light plumbing duties as required.
Perform minor electrical duties as required.
Perform minor carpentry improvements, repairs and modifications as directed.
Pull fully loaded job/boat trailers to jobsites – Class A license is a plus. Some jobsites are remote. Must be knowledgeable with the rules of the road.
Perform millwright functions when required to include rigging equipment and crane operation and signaling.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High school diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of 7 years demonstrated technical experience in facilities maintenance.
Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, supervise, and direct the work of other employees.
Ability to use discretion and judgment in making operations and personnel decisions.
Proficient computer skills required including experience with Microsoft Office programs, Excel, MS Office 365 and similar software.
Capable of giving clear work instructions to employees.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Proficient Blueprint reading skills (where applicable).
Ability to read and understand work specifications and technical manuals.
Ability to obtain DBIDS.
Clean Driving Record.
Own tools of the trade.
Salary : $35 - $40
