Integrated Medical Services, Inc. is currently searching for a professional, compassionate and knowledgeable individual to fill our Certified Coding Specialist role in our Revenue Cycle department. The Certified Coding Specialist will be responsible for processing medical claim information through our EMR system using knowledge of CPT and ICD codes ensuring the accuracy in our medical claim information.
Responsibilities:
- Enter alpha, numeric or symbolic data from source documents into EMR System for patient billing purposes using knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes.
- Analyze, research and correct data entry errors using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Research and consolidate information required for analysis of revenue cycle operations.
- Conduct testing of system updates related to revenue cycle processes and provide feedback.
- Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
- Provide training as needed, including training of new providers, staff, and coders.
- Perform root cause analysis and prevention techniques for all denials.
- Perform regular coding reviews for providers.
Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years experience in multi-specialty coding
- Bilingual preferred, not required
Education:
- Required to have a valid and active Certified Coding (CPC) license
- High School Diploma or GED
