Pharmacy Floor Technician

A Pharmacy Floor Technician is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy floor, including stocking shelves, rotating inventory, cleaning equipment, and ensuring a safe and tidy environment for customers and staff, while adhering to all pharmacy regulations and safety protocols. 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Inventory Management:

·         Regularly stock shelves with medications and over-the-counter products, rotating stock to maintain freshness and expiry dates. 

·         Monitor inventory levels and alert pharmacists about potential shortages. 

·         Receive and verify incoming deliveries of medications, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders. 

·         Cleaning and Sanitation:

·         Clean and disinfect pharmacy counters, shelves, and equipment regularly. 

·         Sweep and mop pharmacy floors to maintain cleanliness. 

·         Properly dispose of pharmaceutical waste according to safety guidelines. 

·         Customer Service:

·         Assist customers with locating products on the pharmacy floor. 

·         Answer basic medication-related questions, directing complex inquiries to pharmacists. 

·         Maintain a positive and helpful attitude towards customers. 

·         Organization and Compliance:

·         Organize medication storage areas to ensure proper labeling and accessibility. 

·         Adhere to all pharmacy regulations regarding medication handling and storage. 

·         Maintain accurate records and documentation related to inventory and cleaning procedures. 

·         Equipment Maintenance:

·         Regularly clean and maintain pharmacy equipment such as pill counters, label printers, and medication storage units. 

·         Report any malfunctioning equipment to the pharmacist for repair. 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic understanding of pharmacy operations and medication terminology
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in tasks
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift and carry boxes, stock shelves, and clean thoroughly.
