As a Controls Application Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, testing, and implementation of control systems for a wide range of applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and deliver tailored control solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, apply your technical expertise, and contribute to the success of our clients.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Control System Design: Develop control system architectures, control logic, and interface specifications to meet project requirements.
  • Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing and validation of control systems to identify and resolve issues, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Client Collaboration: Collaborate closely with clients to understand their specific control needs, provide technical support, and offer solutions to address their requirements effectively.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation, including control system diagrams, technical manuals, and project reports.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in control system design and programming.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard control programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagrams, Structured Text) and control system platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric).
  • Strong knowledge of control theory, instrumentation, and process control.
  • Experience with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) design and configuration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

 

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a minimum of 5 years experience in the field.

 

 

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel for on-site support as required. Up to 25% travel to IPM facility in Rockford, MI when necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing and sitting for extended periods of time
  • Frequently moves equipment 50 lbs around facilities for various needs
  • Training on Hazardous Materials
