The Mechanical Installer takes direction from the Crew Lead and contributes to the mechanical installation (build process) and/or revision of conveyors and associated systems at customer (job) sites.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

·       Accomplishes tasks using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools following manufacturers instructions. 

·       Completes manual tasks by use of hands to finger and hand controls.

·       Provides Value Added Engineering Feedback from builds and onsite experience.

·       Uses knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to install machinery.

·       Receives equipment training from Sr Crew leads and Vendors.

·       Trouble shoots and learns to operate equipment – both IPM equipment and Vendor equipment.  Can fabricate and customize to make conveyors and systems work.

·       Consistently adheres to IPM and/or customer safety standards for on-site installations. 

·       Works with Rigging and Material Handling equipment at installs.

·       Performs Mig, Tig, and Stick Welding on equipment at installs.

·       Conducts integration and support of equipment during installs.

·       Other duties as assigned by management.

 

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude, including skill in using a variety of hand and power tools, accurately reading a tape measure, and interpreting equipment manuals.
  • Computer skills; MS Office Suite, MS Project.
  • Technical knowledge and experience reading blueprints, drawings, and floor plans.

Educational Requirements:

·       High School Diploma or GED preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

·       Regularly works around moving mechanical parts

·       Ability to move 75 pounds

·       Ability to position self around mechanical equipment for extended periods of time, including on the floor under equipment.

·       Constant movement and use of limbs; bending, lifting, twisting, crawling for extended periods of time.  This position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina

·       Ability to use motorized lift to reach overhead conveyor systems

 

Travel Requirements:

·       Approximately 85% of the time (calculated on an annualized basis).  Additional travel may be required as needed. 

Note:  Due to the nationwide install base of our equipment, travel can be for extensive periods, but we will endeavor not to let it exceed more than two consecutive weeks at any time.
