Job Summary
The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate the billing process. We are looking for an entry-level team member with a great attitude and pleasant disposition. We are willing to train the right person if they are a quick learner, has a strong work ethic and a pleasant demeanor.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Accurately and timely posts ERAs and paper remits
- Understanding payment denial reasons and codes
- Possesses knowledge of insurances including but not limited to Tricare, Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial payers
- Completes office receipt boards and office deposit balancing
- Communicates effectively with insurances on behalf of patients
- Ensures that the total of charges, payments and adjustments are posted daily
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2 years of Billing, Collections, and or A/R experience preferred
- Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft office to include Excel, Outlook required
- Ability to type a minimum of fifty (50) words per minute
- Ability to enter data professionally into billing software with minimal error rate
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Strong, professional communication skills
- Professional appearance

- Positive attitude and adaptable to change
- Strong internal and external customer service skills
- Basic medical terminology
- Familiarity with various insurance programs: Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, Commercial payers
- Ability to follow all Federal, State and Local regulations
- Utilization of office equipment: fax machine, scanner, basic computer programs, phone lines
- Strong 10 Key skills
- High level of attention to detail and avoid data entry errors
- Ability to interpret payer contracts and explanation of benefits (EOB)
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Accounting experience: 2 years (Required)
- Medical Billing experience: 2 years (Required)
- Microsoft Excel experience: 3 years (Required)
