The Healthcare Provider Relations Coordinator / Specialist is responsible for optimizing engagement, improving workflow efficiencies, and ensuring seamless communication and problem resolution, process improvement, and high-level support while maintaining strong professional relationships between referral sources, legal representatives, nurse case managers, adjusters, providers, and internal teams. This role acts as a senior-level expert within the Provider Relations team, managing complex cases, high-priority requests, and escalations with efficiency and expertise. The coordinator also provides mentorship to junior team members, collaborates on strategic initiatives, and contributes to process improvements.
What you will do :
- Oversee complex requests from referral sources, attorneys, nurse case managers, and adjusters, ensuring all appropriate staff are aware of work requested and the request is completed efficiently and successfully following assigned SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and industry regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated concerns and complex provider relations issues.
- Upload and create alerts in the EMR to coordinate tasks with providers and site employees.
- Monitor ticket queues to make sure requests are responded to in a timely fashion and outcomes are tracked.
- Collaborate with account representatives on attorney requests to maintain strong relationships.
- Act as a liaison between internal teams, providers, and legal representatives to ensure seamless communication.
- Work with the clinical team on P&S report tracking and completion.
- Oversee and track workflows ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLA’s).
- Escalate sensitive concerns to the Provider Relations Manager.
- Work with RCM and Carrier Relations on obtaining Continuity of Care when needed.
- Monitor request and complaint patterns to provide reports and recommend potential operational improvements.
- Develop standardized response templates for common inquiries.
- Assist Tier 1 and Tier 2 team members by offering guidance and work tickets as needed to manage overflow and / or when Tier 3 workload is slow.
- Support Provider Relations Manager in ad hoc projects and assignments.
- Attend weekly team meetings, training courses and report on queue status to manager.
- Ensure all requests requiring provider involvement are closed out within 30 days.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Compensation Range :
22.00 to $26.00 Hourly
All compensation ranges are posted based on internal equity, job requirements, experience, and geographical locations.
