What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing and Coding Specialist position at Integrated Pain Specialists?
Top Pain Management practice seeking experienced Medical Billing and Coding professional. Experience must include the following;
- MUST HAVE PAIN MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
- THIS IS NOT A REMOTE OR HYBRID POSITION
- IN OFFICE ONLY
- Knowledge of current CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and HCPCs coding
- Knowledge of current billing guidelines for a range of payers, including but not limited to Medicare, Commercial, HMO, and Workers Compensation billing
- CPC-A or CPC certification preferred, but not required
- Experience issuing claims for multiple providers, in addition to assessing and working denials
- Experience working with EHR/EMR, experience with eClinicalWorks is MUST
- Windows proficient, experience working with Excel, and PowerPoint is essential
- Candidate must have minimum 2 years experience in over all Billing Department duties
- Front desk and/or MA experience is a plus
- Overall knowledge of working in a Medical Practice, working closely with multiple providers
- Experience in record review, working directly with providers to correct and update notes
- Knowledge of navigating payer websites
- Experience negotiating payer contracts is a plus
- Experience with Pain Management is a MUST with knowledge of billing pain management codes, pumps, refills, implants, spinal cord stimulators
- Knowledge of HIPPA

This is a full-time, long term position, within a small private practice. Our office is located in the heart of San Diego, Kearny Mesa.
