POSITION SUMMARY
The Coding Assistant provides administrative support to the Coding Department, helping to streamline processes and reduce non-coding tasks for certified coders. This role involves document preparation, data management, and maintaining records, ensuring efficiency in coding operations.
Essential Responsibilities:
✅ Perform quality control reviews of anesthesia records
✅ Prepare documents for the coding and charge entry teams
✅ Maintain spreadsheets and track key coding data
✅ Scan and organize schedules for provider site assignments
✅ Run daily files for electronic charge interfaces
✅ Document and track transplant cases for proper billing
✅ Provide backup support to fellow team members as needed
If you're CPC-certified, you may also have opportunities for entry-level coding assignments!
Education, Work Experience, Technical Experience
✔ 1-2 years of office experience (healthcare experience preferred)
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
✔ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
✔ Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
✔ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
