Responsibilities & Expectations:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Industrial Product Sales Rep to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, with a focus on power generation equipment and solutions. This role involves building relationships with customers, identifying their needs, and recommending the best generator products to meet those needs.
- Sales and Lead Generation: Proactively identify and generate new leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events. Follow up with potential customers to close sales
- Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of various generator products, including portable, standby, and industrial generators. Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and product offerings
- Customer Consultation: Work closely with customers to assess their power needs and recommend the most appropriate generator solutions based on their requirements and budget
- Sales Presentations: Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and proposals to prospective customers. Articulate the benefits and features of generators in a clear and compelling manner
- Negotiation and Closing: Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with customers to successfully close sales and meet sales targets
- Customer Support: Provide exceptional after-sales support, ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing any issues that may arise with the products or installation process
- Market Research: Continuously monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to ensure competitive positioning in the marketplace
- Collaboration: Work with the marketing, logistics, and technical teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment, timely deliveries, and accurate product specifications
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Proven technical sales or engineering experience, preferably in the power generation industry, construction, or related fields
- Knowledge of generator product and installation processes and related services
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skill
- Ability to identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to achieve sales targets
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites and attend industry events
- Occasional lifting of product samples or promotional materials (up to 50 pounds)
