Description : Job Summary :
Student Intervention Mediator works closely with site administration and counselors to assist students with barriers to academic achievement. They will provide strategic services that identify and address the social-emotional environment issues that interfere with the site's educational process. In addition, the Student Intervention Mediator will assist students, families, and school personnel directing students and their families to targeted services and programs in both the school and community to enhance academic performance and overall personal wellness.

- Appropriate English usage - spelling, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic concepts.
- Bilingual / Biliterate preferred.
- Strong communication skills in both formal and informal settings with the ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Knowledge of restorative justice principles and techniques to address harm and promote understanding, accountability, and healing.
- General knowledge of public education and a basic understanding of a special education program.
- Ability to maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with children and adults that reflects the Districts initiatives and standards.
- Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), and behavior management strategies and techniques relating to students experiencing atypical control problems.
- Possess Interpersonal skills needed to manage crises.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
