Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Leasing/Assistant Manager to oversee our property leasing operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of property management, customer service, and conflict resolution. This role is essential in ensuring tenant satisfaction while maintaining compliance with Fair Housing regulations and managing Section 8 agreements. The Leasing / Assistant Manager will work closely with prospective tenants, current residents, and the maintenance team to create a welcoming and efficient leasing experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage the leasing process from start to finish, including marketing available units, conducting property tours, and processing applications.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and Section 8 guidelines throughout the leasing process.
- Maintain accurate records of all leasing activities using OneSite or similar property management software.
- Provide exceptional customer service to prospective and current tenants, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Negotiate lease agreements with potential tenants while ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to address property maintenance issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure it meets quality standards and is well-maintained.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve tenant retention and satisfaction.
- Train and supervise leasing staff, providing guidance on best practices in customer service and conflict management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in property management or leasing roles is required.
- Strong knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and Section 8 policies is essential.
- Proficiency in Appfolio or similar property management software
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle conflicts effectively.
- Strong phone etiquette and office management skills are required.
- Ability to negotiate effectively while maintaining compliance with legal standards.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
