Lab Technician – Electronic Hardware

Description:

Position to support system and hardware engineers with project coordination and

hardware build activities for new and current products at ISG. Work will be focused on

supporting the implementation of new products and updates on current production

products in the Precision Technologies organization at ISG.

Duties to include but not limited to the following:

• Ability to read harness prints and build or rework harnesses
• Perform harness and bracket fit-up on equipment and make recommendations on harness
  
  

Client-out and bracket design based on results

• Perform electronic equipment fit up on machines to support engineering development
• Create sketches and documentation of prototype harnesses and brackets based on
  
  

engineering needs

• Purchase components for harnesses, electronic, and brackets to support prototype builds
  
  

and other engineering needs

Key skill- Ability to modify electrical hardware (controllers, harnesses, and electrical mounting

equipment) to support engineering builds/fit-ups

• Manage experimental equipment inventory
• Ability to perform PCB rework including through-hole and SMT components, hand
  
  

assembly of small PCB’s for prototype activities

• Basic user of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Teams)
• Ability to update and modify mechanical documentation (prints and models)
• Experience with 3D printing
• Autocad a plus
  
  

Engineering Technician II - Product Engineering Support (CA)Major PurposePerforms instrumented tests using existing procedures to verify that system performance meetsproduct specifications. Supports assigned product groups in product validation and verificationprocess as associated with production requirements. Provides problem identification andresolution, corrective action and tracking and reliability analysis. Provides input on test proceduresto engineers and support personnel as required.Major Duties? Designs, schedules and performs field and/or lab tests to validate new product designs.? Analyzes test data of moderate complexity, draws conclusions and summarizes reports.? Develops programs for data acquisition.? Collects and installs instrumentation for test.? Compiles test reports that document procedures and communicates results and guidance todesign group.? Assists in procedure and process documentation for various aspects of testing requirements.? Assists in developing changes to product design for new programs or continuousimprovement projects.? Gives work direction to test operators.Skills, Abilities, Knowledge? Familiarity with one or more of the following systems: mechanical, hydraulic, electrical.? Skill in using company information systems and processes.? Knowledge in engineering principles, theory and practice as well as product knowledge.? Knowledge of industry Product Verification & Validation processes and executionmethodologies.? Fundamental understanding of machine forms relevant to the specific job assignmentand Company division/unit. Knowledge/familiarity with machines manufactured by? competitors.? Knowledge of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP), Enterprise TechnologyDevelopment process (ETDP) and/or Enterprise Customer Acquisition Process (ECAP).Education? Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience. - Technical degree orapprenticeship (1-2 years or equivalent)?
