Your Responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Engineer at our client Foundry facility, you will provide engineering design and support of Foundry modifications and improvements. You will develop comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance plans for the Foundry production equipment and processes through both internal and external resources. This position will interface and coordinate with partner organizations, facilities construction, maintenance personnel, and other engineering and design team members to develop engineering schematics, cost materials and labor, develop project timelines and maintain integrity of engineering specifications during construction.

MAJOR PURPOSE:
Plans, coordinates and performs facilities project and maintenance engineering work for facility infrastructure, production equipment and processes of moderate to large Product. Operates in a team environment. Assigns, coordinates and reviews the work of support and contract personnel. Provides project and supply management for projects of limited Product. Decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Description of the major duties performed in this job. * Provides engineering design for the infrastructure for the facility, grounds and production equipment and processes through both internal and external resources. Projects are more complex and require integration and coordination of various engineering disciplines. * Provides project management of projects related to the facility infrastructure, production machines, equipment and processes that support the manufacturing and/or distribution operation. Projects are more complex and may integrate several areas of engineering and require limited management of outside design professionals and contractors. * Provides troubleshooting of the facility infrastructure and production equipment to support production, manufacturing, distribution and maintenance operations. * Responds to critical production down situations affecting manufacturing and/or distribution operations. * Maintains project budget cost control on projects assigned through project cost control system for the unit.. * Provides life, safety and building code analysis and supports and implements programs within the organization to prevent injuries and illnesses. Assists in the identification and resolution of potential environmental, safety, ergonomic and health hazards. * Researches market for qualified suppliers of materials and services. Seeks competitive and negotiated sources for materials, equipment and services for maintenance and new construction projects assigned to engineer. Prepares purchase orders for management approval.

- Implement equipment and process modifications and repairs to improve reliability, efficiency, quality, productivity, and safety
- Maintain documentation to enable best practices with other maintenance projects and satisfy compliance requirements
- Oversee project coordination for the installation of process equipment and general expense projects in an industrial environment which includes estimating project costs. writing capital request justifications, interfacing with process owners to develop Product of work. analyze manufacturer recommendations to create new preventative maintenance plans to optimize equipment uptime, and designing and detailing bid and construction drawings and documentation
- Assist in the identification and resolution of potential environmental, safety, ergonomic and health hazards
- 2 or more years of heavy industrial maintenance or engineering environment
- 2 or more years of experience with Industrial Power systems including: Hydraulic, compressed air, natural gas, and electrical systems
- 2 or more years of experience leading and managing projects
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability and willingness to support a multi-shift operational facility
- Experience leading others and/or teams
- Experience with the capital justification process
Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:
- Experience working in a Foundry Facilities/Maintenance
- Experience with and strong understanding of processes and equipment related to the green sand molding/casting industry including melting, molding, cleaning and core making
- Experience managing outside contractors
- Proficiency in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools
