Title: Senior Associate Scientist

Location: Bothell, WA

Length: 18 months

Job Description:

• The Downstream Process Development group in Bioprocess R&D is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist contractor to support development and optimization of recovery and purification processes for recombinant proteins and biological macromolecules for early- and late-phase clinical trials.
• The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to designing and executing bench-scale development and characterization studies with proper documentation, analyzing and interpreting results, and authoring technical reports.
• This position interacts and collaborates with fellow scientists within Downstream PD and across Pharmaceutical Sciences.
• Design and execute bench-scale chromatography and filtration development and characterization studies.
• Support process development for new molecules from platform process fit assessment through IND submissions.
• Transfer manufacturing processes to internal and/or external manufacturing facilities.
• Author technical reports and make presentations to scientists and management.

Education And Experience:

• Minimum bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills Requirements:

• Relevant experience in laboratory or manufacturing setting, preferably with preparative or analytical chromatography, filtration and other techniques.
• Experience using AKTA and Unicorn software.
• Experience with experimental design and interpretation of results.
