Bachelor's degree in a Human Factors, Graphic Design, Interaction / Visual Design, or related field discipline or equivalent experience Major PurposeLeverages user experience research insights and recommendations to accelerate discussions and decisions early in the product development process. Applies internal/external standards and best practices to create tangible visualizations that serve as the blueprint for product team to turn a concept into a solution, while ensuring they stay consistent with brand standards. Work at this level is of moderate to high complexity, covering multiple user classes and personas, which may involve creating new personas. Designs cover multiple products/components across multiple platforms, usually in the same division, and enable moderate to highly complex and often concurrent user interactions. Leads and/or participates in the creation of the user experience (UX) strategy and standards for a narrow set of related solutions. Actively works to share knowledge across workgroups. Mentors and coaches less-experienced UX Designers.Major Duties? Creates and designs elements or components resulting in high quality user experience designs.? Incorporates branding and common design guidelines into products.? Creates wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes and specifications.? Maintains style guides for varying methods of delivery.? Follows appropriate design methodology, tools, and protocols to conduct user-centered design.? Translates analytics data into visual designs to support interpretation and generation of insights or vice versa.? Monitors external patterns and trends and evaluates their impact on internal design philosophies.? Performs research and makes recommendations for adopting relevant emerging design trends.Skills, Abilities, Knowledge? Possesses working knowledge of core user interface languages.? Technical skill and knowledge in a specialized area of engineering, e.g., design, analysis, test, evaluation, etc.? Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution.? High level of attention to detail and accuracy.? Ability to deliver production-ready, clean and usable digital user interfaces across multiple form factors.Education? Degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)? Degree in a Marketing discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)? Miscellaneous degree or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)Work Experience? Work experience in a team environment. (4 - 7 years)? - Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to features and develop user-centered system requirements
- Plan, coordinate, and perform UX interaction design and validation activities for a variety of projects of highly automated systems
- Collaborate with UX designers on solution concepts derived from user-centered system requirements
- Work closely with engineering and development teams to ensure features are implemented according to specification
- Mentor and coach less-experienced UX Designers
What Skills You Need
- Four or more years of experience planning, executing, and analyzing UX design projects
- Four or more years of visual interface design as applied to web and mobile
- Four or more years of experience applying User-Centered Design principles to complex interface problems
- Four or more years of experience working with cross-functional teams, such as: engineering, software development, marketing, and business leaders
- Three or more years of experience of communicating research methodology, design concepts, data analysis, and test results to a broad range of stakeholders
- Three or more years of experience with technology and product development processes
- Two or more years of visual interface design as applied to in-vehicle displays
- Demonstrate ability to champion end user experience and to influence digital product designs across product areas
- Demonstrate experience in product discovery, design research and concept validation to inform experience definition and design concepts
- A strong portfolio of UI visual design, task flows, and designing to solve user problems
- Experience using UX metrics and a user-centered design process to provide insights to product engineering groups
- Experience applying design principles in terms of user flows, accessibility, visual hierarchy, and brand influence
- Demonstrated ability to utilize prototyping, user flows, storyboards and/or existing research to provide insights to design ahead of high-fidelity design delivery
- Experience designing for agriculture in-vehicle interfaces
