Work as a Civil Engineer in Project Engineering within the Delivery Projects & Construction Organization, utilizing a broad knowledge of business and engineering principles and practices acquired through progressive experience.
Duties and responsibilities include the development of projects including needs justification, feasibility and financial analysis. Develop and maintain plans and specifications for construction. Develop and communicate clear project components, durations, scopes, etc. Provide the engineering expertise for Outside Plant Electric Transmission (Overhead and Underground). Productively interact with internal and external multi-disciplined customers, contractors, agencies, and engineers. Provide problem solving services in handling conflicts between Client transmission facilities and others. Project management responsibilities related to engineering, construction and support services include: developing business cases for projects linked to strategic and financial plans; evaluating technical and operational requirements; developing conceptual models and performing feasibility studies; cost estimation; preparing design and installation specifications and bid packages; evaluating bid packages; overseeing performance of contracted design and installation work. Maintain and apply working knowledge of Client Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.
Required:
· B.S. in Civil Engineering with at least one (1) year of Electric Transmission type Engineering Design Experience.
· Experience in Transmission Structure design.
· Knowledge in underground transmission cable engineering and manhole design.
· Designing, troubleshooting and maintenance of transmission lines.
· Applicant must have effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and be results-oriented.
· Electric Utility or plant experience and knowledge of outside plant electric transmission systems, which includes design and cost estimate.
· Familiarity with utility best practices, IEEE, ASME, NESC and NEMA Standards.
· Candidate requires knowledge of company or other industry engineering and design standards.
· Clear and concise writing and verbal communications skills are essential.
· On call 24/7 availability to handle emergency replacement work and assist during system emergency situation.
· Must have a valid driver’s license

Work activities will include the following projects:
· O-2320 Stop Joint.
· Essex Switch projects related to the C-1355, H-1308 and K-2211.
· These involve reconductoring, termination relocations and stop joint installations.
· B-1328 reconductoring.
· Trenton Switch for the 230kV pole relocations.
· OPGW project. This work includes 11 circuits currently in various stages of engineering.
· Conrail Oak Island.
· Various tasks coordinating with Project Integration.
Qualifications
Required:
· B.S. in Civil Engineering with at least one (1) year of Electric Transmission type Engineering Design Experience.
