Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to provide nursing functions for patients served by an assertive community treatment team. Under the direction of the team psychiatrist, the nurse will provide management and supervision of medication administration to patients in their homes and other settings. Will provide case management services for an assigned group of patients, including planning, developing, and monitoring of services and supports as delineated in the patient s treatment plan.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Previous experience in a mental health setting. Skills and competence to establish trusting relationships with individuals and respect for their rights and personal preferences in treatment. Good communication skills and ability to work with other staff from a variety of professions in the health care field.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Previous experience working with individuals diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness. Working knowledge of psychiatric medications and side effects to those medications. Previous employment on an ACT team.
