GENERAL DESCRIPTION
- The Lead Employment Coach is responsible for carrying out all directives that come from the Support Manager, Director of Services, and Chief Executive Officer. The highest priority is to ensure all IRI client service and support needs are met.
- The Lead Employment Coach provides mentorship to our Employment Coaches and the individuals we serve. Their main goal is to ensure that Employment Coaches are providing the best services possible, including a priority focus on health and safety and quality of life services.
- The Lead Employment Coach will be skilled in providing job development and on the job supports. The main goal is to assist the individual and their circle of support in securing a competitive integrated job that is in line with their skills and talents.
- The Lead Employment Coach will co-facilitate meaningful and Individualized Support Plans (ISP) for the people we serve and support.
- The Lead Employment Coach will utilize digital tools, such as our scheduling platform to develop systems and tools to allow for retention of information for the individuals we serve and support.
- The Lead Employment Coach will ensure that strong and effective business relationships with employers and volunteer sites are maintained.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions of the job are denoted. The Lead Employment Coach assumes the following responsibilities under the direction of the Support Manager and in collaboration with other members of the leadership team.
- Demonstrates respectful and dignified interaction and communication with IRI clients, stakeholders (such as co-workers, employers, family members, community members) and IRI colleagues.
- Assumes competence and builds esteem in all interactions with IRI clients.
- Implement a normalized community integrated employment focused program.
- Develop integrated work schedules.
- Find integrated work settings and develop competitive employment placement.
- Provide encouragement for meaningful employment related activities to the person served.
- Conduct frequent Job Site Analysis - pre, during and post-employment.
- Implement adaptation strategies and devices based upon individual need.
- Provide typical and specialized healthcare needs (medication, hygiene, toiletry, feeding) as needed.
- Provide mobility training as needed/requested.
- Distributes Stakeholder Satisfaction Survey.
- Facilitate mentor supports at work sites.
- Implement Individual Service Plan goals and SMART objectives.
- Monitor Positive Behavior Strategy system and plans.
- Conduct task analysis and demonstrate data-based training decisions.
- Demonstrate systematic instructional strategies.
- Attends and completes staff development training and attend monthly trainings.
- Communicate progress to IRI clients and Supervisor.
- Demonstrate proper emergency strategies.
- Collaborate with other IRI Management to ensure proper schedule and supports.
- Contact and report emergencies to Program Manager as necessary.
- Provides administrative support to the Program Management team as directed.
- Provides Mentor training to New Hire Employees for their Orientation site visits.
- Collaborates with individual served, Employment Coach, Support Manager and circle of support to complete customized employment activities including discovery, vocational profile and list of twenty prospective employers for job development.
- Contact prospective employers and facilitate job application for participants.
- All other duties as assigned by the Support Manager, Director of Services and Chief Executive Officer.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - In an eight-hour working day the employee is required to stand an average of one hour, sit an average of six hours and walk an average of one hour.
- During the working day the employee must frequently bend and stoop, climb stairs, reach above shoulder level, balance and pull and push, and drive.
- During the working day the employee must occasionally lift between 1 to 10 lbs.
- During the working day the employee must occasionally carry between 1 to 10 lbs.
- The employee is required to use both hands for at least a portion of the day.
- The employee is required to have typical visual and hearing capacity.
- The employee is required to drive an automobile to meet functions of job responsibilities.
- This position may require the use of smart phones and other mobile electronic devices to perform work functions. The employee’s use of company-issued devices or pre-authorized use of the employee’s personal device will comply with the agency’s Cell Phone Policy at all times.
