We are seeking a Help Me Grow Family Support Specialist (Home Visitor)

Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) is a community-minded, forward-thinking behavioral health organization helping people along the road to health and well-being. We meet people in their homes and communities and help connect them to their needed resources. We serve Southeastern and Central Ohio with a comprehensive array of behavioral health and other services working with local partners to promote healthy people and strong communities. Our services are intended to be collaborative and personalized for the individual.
The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $22.26 per hour.
Essential Functions:
- Initiates and maintains regular and long-term (up to three years) contact/support with families. This activity will occur primarily within the familys home; each visit should last for at least one hour. The interventions should be family-centered, strength-based, and directed at: establishing a trusting relationship; assisting in strengthening the parent-child relationship; assisting parents in improving their skills to optimize the home environment; improving the family support system; and increasing the familys ability to problem solve and assume the role of advocate for themselves and their children. The activities may also include identifying and referring for contact/appointments at other supportive agencies, including health care appointments.
- Assists the family in establishing goals and a plan for accomplishment of those goals, as well as the assessment of the normal growth and development of the target child.
- Maintains necessary documentation, participates in program evaluation, attends team and program planning meetings, cross-systems training, and acquires knowledge of community resources.
- Meets billing productivity requirements established by Integrated Services for Behavioral Health.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience in working with or providing services to children and their families
- Associates degree required
- Ability to establish trusting relationships
- Acceptance of individual differences
- Experience and willingness to work with the culturally diverse populations present among the sites target population
- Knowledge of infant and child development
- Open to reflective practice
- Infant mental health endorsement preferred
- Minimum three years of directly relevant experience
- Demonstrated high degree of cultural awareness
- Experience with multi-need individuals and families
- Broad knowledge of community service systems
- Licensed and able to operate a motor vehicle with appropriate level of insurance coverage
- Willing to participate in and lead cross-systems team building activities
- Able to effectively communicate through verbal/written expression
- Must be able to operate in an Internet-based, automated office environment
