Contingent (on-call) Mobile Crisis Emergency Services Clinician (LMSW, LLP, LPC)

Would you like to be a valuable member of a diversity driven, mission-minded team that impacts our community? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work as a Contingent (on-call) Mobile Crisis Emergency Services Clinician.

What You Will Be Doing
Working as an On-Call Mobile Crisis Emergency Services Clinician you will be responsible for screening for hospitalization or other crisis services on-call and primarily on nights, weekends, and holidays.  You will work in a variety of emergency settings including emergency rooms, crisis housing, homeless shelters as well as other community-based settings.  You will also be well versed in Recovery Philosophy and application of Peer Supportive Systems of care.   The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills (written & verbal) experience with SA/MI and the criminal justice system.
 
What We Require
You will have a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related field and a minimum of two years’ experience in a clinical setting.  You’ll have extensive knowledge of the DMS IV diagnostic criteria, co-occurring disorders, substance use disorders, evidence-based and promising practice interventions, and familiarity with psychotropic medications, experience with involuntary hospitalization procedures and the ability to work in a fast- paced environment.  Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Limited License Psychologist (LLP), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) required.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.

Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer screen for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
