Job Summary: We are seeking a Cyber Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support IT security tasks in support of DoD space experimentation projects. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of IT security protocols, network infrastructure, and compliance frameworks. This role involves assisting in RMF compliance efforts, implementing cybersecurity protocols, maintaining security documentation, and supporting secure IT environment operations. The successful candidate will work closely with senior specialists to monitor and mitigate security risks and contribute to the overall security posture of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
RMF Compliance Assistance: Support efforts related to Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance and help in the preparation and maintenance of documentation required for system security authorizations.
Cybersecurity Protocols Implementation: Assist in the implementation and management of basic cybersecurity measures, including system configurations and security controls to protect systems and data.
IT Infrastructure Support: Support IT infrastructure operations, ensuring the secure configuration and deployment of hardware and software within the network.
Documentation and Compliance Records: Help maintain system security documentation and compliance records, ensuring alignment with DoD security standards and requirements.
Vulnerability and Breach Monitoring: Assist in monitoring IT systems for potential vulnerabilities or breaches, escalating security issues to senior specialists as necessary for resolution.
Secure IT Environment Administration: Support the administration of secure IT environments, helping to enforce security policies and procedures across the organization's systems and networks.
Incident Response Support: Assist in incident response activities, including initial detection, reporting, and documentation, while learning from senior team members to improve skills and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
4-7 years of IT/security experience, with a foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles.
Security and/or CISSP certification.
TS/SCI Clearance required.
Desired Qualifications:
Basic understanding of IT security protocols, network infrastructure, and compliance frameworks such as RMF and ATO processes.
Familiarity with managing secure IT environments and implementing basic cybersecurity measures.
Knowledge of incident response tools and techniques, with the ability to support documentation and compliance activities.
Ability to assist with maintaining compliance records and preparing necessary security reports.
