What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at Integrated Systems Design (ISD)?
Integrated Systems Design is a provider of material handling solutions throughout North America. We provide automated storage and retrieval systems, conveyor systems, customer automation, robotics, and other solutions used in the warehouse, distribution, manufacturing and assembly markets.
As a Project Manager you will be dealing with larger, more complex contracts which require the experience and capabilities only gained from years of project implementation. The person may manage several projects simultaneously. Responsible for ensuring fulfillment of our company's obligations to our customers as defined by project contract and schedule requirements. Must also strive to maintain or improve upon the allotted project budget.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish project implementation schedules and coordinate the related activities.
- Work closely with Controls Engineering to ensure correct design of system controls equipment, control logic and software implementation.
- Review critical purchase orders before release. Issue contracts to vendors / subcontractors as required.
- Evaluate project issues that may arise and determine the corrective action to be taken.
- Keep accurate records of project progress, the project budget and open issues and publish this information to the appropriate individuals on a timely basis.
- Estimate / obtain the cost and schedule for contract changes including materials, engineering and installation.
- Prepare accurate and professional project Change Orders and present them to the customer for approval.
- Develop and execute commissioning and acceptance test plans to secure final project acceptance from the customer.
- Aid in the development of less experienced personnel, assigned to their projects, by guiding and training them on company procedures and equipment applications.
- Perform the duties of a Project Engineer when necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in related field with 3-5 years minimum as a Project Manager in the Material Handling industry.
- Travel as necessary for the purpose of project: meetings; implementation; coordination; and commissioning.
- A minimum base knowledge of Electrical Controls.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and PC based programs.
- Strong writing, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strong time management
