ITS is looking for an experienced Buyer in the Mound House, Nevada area. The Buyer will be responsible for managing procurement activities, including placing, tracking, and expediting purchases for materials, services, and equipment. This role involves working with existing suppliers and identifying potential new vendors. The position requires daily coordination with production planning, receiving, quality assurance, and accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate procurement. Additionally, the Buyer III will oversee strategic procurement initiatives and manage key commodities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Procure high-quality raw materials in alignment with manufacturing schedules.
Ensure all necessary quality requirements are included in purchase orders.
Manage the acquisition of non-inventory goods and services as required.
Negotiate pricing and payment terms to optimize cost efficiency while maintaining supplier quality and service standards.
Evaluate supplier proposals for compliance with specifications, quality standards, and timelines, preparing detailed comparison summaries.
Maintain expertise in industry trends and manufacturing processes, identifying risks and opportunities.
Lead procurement initiatives and support the strategic sourcing process.
Monitor and update purchase orders, maintaining open communication with suppliers.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, addressing supply chain risks proactively.
Provide training to procurement team members on procurement best practices.
Generate and distribute monthly supplier performance reports.
Analyze reports on costing, inventory, order status, and stock-out projections, communicating risks and opportunities during planning meetings.
Update ERP systems with accurate lead times, pricing, safety stock, and order quantities.
Qualifications :
Advanced knowledge of industry-specific quality standards, regulations, and certifications.
Expertise in procurement policies, procedures, and inventory management.
Strong understanding of engineering design and manufacturing processes.
Ability to negotiate vendor terms, pricing, and delivery schedules within budget constraints.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP systems.
Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of six years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in sourcing raw materials such as metals, plastics, and adhesives.
