JOB DESCRIPTION
Our Medical Assistants play a vital role in the company's agenda, so we want to hire the best MAs that are available. In this position, the duties are the same as ones needed in a conventional medical office, but are performed at the patient's house
- Follow company policies and procedures/ abide by company core values .
- Pairs with Physician to drive to residential areas for scheduled visits.
- Responsible for maintaining and upkeep of assigned medical supplies and technology center.
- Prepares patients with comfort and care for in home procedures, such as performing vital signs, phlebotomy (venipuncture only), specimen collections, routine Injections, and accuchecks as ordered by physician.
- Labels, stores and properly packages specimens for delivery to lab.
- Logs and updates patient information for accurate processing and testing.
- Documentation of all ordered services for patients, such as durable medical equipment , and ancillary services through company EMR.
- Logs information in compliance with CLIA standards.
- Performs all clinical duties while observing OSHA and HIPAA requirements.
- Assists physician in preparing for minor surgeries and examinations.
- Aids in communication and form signing with patient/caregivers
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Attends required meetings and in-services.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of practice protocols to assist in delivering patient care.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Ability to adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to analyze problems and resolve issues in a rapid, direct and complete manner.
- Ability to assess importance of inquiry and to assign priority for resolution.
- Skill in teamwork and maintaining relationships with patients, caregivers and coworkers.
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum of six months experience in patient care, preferably geriatric care
- Certificate of completion from an accredited institute
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Must live 15 miles away from the office
