Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Active Directory Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and supporting Active Directory environments, ensuring high availability and security. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity and performance of our systems while implementing best practices for virtualization, network management, and security protocols.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Active Directory infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Active Directory issues, including replication failures and authentication problems.
- Collaborate with network engineers to integrate DHCP, VPN, and IDS solutions into the Active Directory environment.
- Maintain high availability of directory services through effective backup and recovery strategies.
- Utilize PRTG for monitoring system performance and network traffic to ensure quality of service (QoS).
- Implement security measures such as IPsec to protect sensitive data within the network.
- Provide support for operating systems related to Active Directory services.
- Document processes, configurations, and changes to maintain an accurate knowledge base.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Active Directory Engineer or in a similar IT role.
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies and their integration with Active Directory.
- Familiarity with DHCP configuration and management.
- Experience with VPN setup and maintenance.
- Knowledge of intrusion detection systems (IDS) and their application in securing networks.
- Proficiency in using PRTG or similar monitoring tools for system health checks.
- Understanding of high availability concepts within directory services.
- Experience working with various operating systems in a networked environment.
- Familiarity with Quality of Service (QoS) principles in network management.
