Integration Charter School is seeking an experienced and student-centered Allied Health Teacher to support the development of a new healthcare certification track in partnership with Monroe University. This role will focus on preparing students for careers in the medical field through hands-on training in areas such as phlebotomy, EKG, and medical administration. Ideal candidates will bring both clinical experience and a passion for education, helping students build real-world skills and explore entry-level healthcare pathways in a supportive, forward-thinking learning environment.
· Teach high school Living Environment and prepare students for success on the NYS Regents Exam.
· Lead instruction for Monroe University’s Allied Health certification track, delivering coursework and clinical training in areas such as phlebotomy, EKG, and vital signs.
· Provide hands-on skills training and ensure students meet clinical benchmarks (e.g., number of successful vein punctures and vitals recorded).
· Collaborate with Monroe University to align curriculum, expectations, and student supports.
· Help set up and manage on-site clinical equipment (e.g., scales, thermometers, EKG machines).
· Balance recordkeeping responsibilities for both high school and college platforms (PowerSchool and Blackboard).
· Support students’ readiness for certification exams or clinical assessments.
· Participate in planning and data meetings with ICS and Monroe teams to ensure strong outcomes.
· Build a classroom culture rooted in career readiness, professionalism, and scientific thinking.
· Provide real-world context and mentorship that connects content to meaningful healthcare careers.
Competencies & Qualifications· Master’s degree in Allied Health, Biology, Nursing, or a related clinical or science field (preferred).
· 5–10 years of experience in a clinical setting (e.g., medical assistant, nurse, phlebotomist, clinical educator).
· NYS certification in Biology/Living Environment or eligibility to obtain.
· Prior teaching or training experience strongly preferred, especially with high school students.
· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) NYS standards for science and CTE alignment.
· Comfort using student data platforms and maintaining accurate academic/clinical records.
· Passion for working with diverse learners, particularly students with IEPs or non-traditional learning paths.
· Ability to travel to Monroe University’s Bronx campus on occasion.
