Mechanical Designer

Overview

i3 is seeking a Mechanical designer with proficiency in SolidWorks to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

• Utilize 3-D computer aided design (CAD) tools to create component and system designs supporting model development and associated fabrication drawings.
• Develop manufacturing models and drawings meeting ASME Standard formats to support technology data packages.
• Interact with design engineers and vendors to address design optimization.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• 8-10 minimum years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in SolidWorks.
• Experience working with SolidWorks assembly files that contain many (hundreds) parts.
• Proficient in creating drawings using SolidWorks.
• Familiar with SolidWorks PDM (Product Data Management).
• Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and using GD&T on drawings.
• Active DoD security clearance and the ability to maintain required.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
