We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Medical Biller to join our team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of medical claims, billing, and reimbursement. This position is perfect for someone with experience in medical billing who is looking for a flexible schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and other third-party payers.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations or pre-certifications.
• Review and resolve denied or rejected claims promptly.
• Post payments to patient accounts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues.
• Maintain accurate records of billing activities and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Generate and review reports related to accounts receivable and billing trends.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing codes, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of medical billing experience, preferably in a healthcare or clinical setting.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing and coding is preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
• Familiarity with insurance guidelines, including Medicare.
• Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Kareo, or similar) and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.

Schedule & Compensation:

• Hours: 20-25 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options.
• Pay Rate: $18–$20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
