Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments efficiently using medical office systems.
- Handle incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information and answering inquiries related to services offered.
- Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with insurance verification processes, including Medicare inquiries.
- Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and address any issues that may arise during visits.
- Provide administrative support by managing front desk and back office operations and coordinating communication between patients and healthcare providers.
Skills
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, particularly as a dental or medical receptionist.
- Proficiency in using medical administrative support systems to manage patient information effectively.
- Strong phone etiquette skills to communicate clearly and professionally with patients and colleagues.
- Understanding of Medicare processes and familiarity with insurance verification procedures.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
