CERTIFIED/REGISTERED MEDICAL ASSISTANT
We are inviting a certified or registered Medical Assistant to perform clinical and administrative duties to assist our providers with patient care and followup. They should be organized, attentive to details, efficiently manage data, relate and communicate well with others. They will be involved in direct nursing responsibilities such as patient intake, SQ and IM injections, triage calls, and medication refills. The medical assistant will work under the primary supervision of the medical providers and general supervision of the Practice Manager. Preference for spanish speaking.
- Excellent patient relation skills on the phone and in-person, e.g. smiles, cheerfully greets patients, professionalism in conversation and behavior, and maintains a genuine and compassionate demeanor
- Patient intake, vitals, medication/lab orders, and check-out instructions
- Intramuscular/subcutaneous injections
- Patient triage review
- Patient communication and follow-up
- Prior authorizations, insurance verification, pharmacy follow-up
- Accurate and detailed EMR management including data entry, document uploads, faxed records, and inter-office communication.
- Regular consistent attendance, personal appearance, punctuality, and adherence to applicable HIPAA, health, and safety procedures
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS
- At least 18yo and legally allowed to work in USA
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Holds current CMA/RMA certification
- Two (2) years of nursing experience preferred
- CPR and BLS certified
- Phlebotomy Proficient
- Efficiently uses Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
- Must have a current Tuberculosis (TB) skin test upon employment and provide an update annually.
- Spanish speaking preferred
