JOB DESCRIPTION
The Infusion Coordinator will oversee the administrative organization of the Infusion Suite for Integrative Rheumatology. The Coordinator will work closely with the Specialty Care Manager and Infusion Nurses to ensure that all scheduled infusion patients have approved orders, stocked medications, and prepared flow sheets. For medications being fulfilled by Specialty Pharmacies, the Coordinator will assist with form completion, delivery confirmations, and injection training for self-administered specialty medications. The Infusion Coordinator will cross train on the authorization process for specialty medication approvals for both in-house and pharmacy orders to ensure continuity of process. The Coordinator will work closely with the Infusion Billing Specialist to ensure that all administered meds are documented appropriately and submitted to insurance in a timely manner.
Specific job responsibilities include:
- Perform registration, receptionist, and secretarial duties for the Infusion Suite
- Keep medication refrigerator temperature logs
- Once approved, order infusion & hydration medications
- Maintain infusion medication inventory
- Manage optimized infusion and specialty injection schedules
- Confirm infusion patients 24-48 hours prior to their appt
- Prepare & organize daily flow sheets & medication allocation
- Assist with approved nursing tasks, as needed
- Ensure completion of documentation of infusion encounters
- Assist with completion of patient and provider forms for medication approvals & patient assistance
- Learn & perform injection training techniques for self-injectable medications
- Cross-train on process for specialty medication approval
- Cross-train on process for pharm med approval & fulfilment
Minimum Requirements:
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong knowledge base of HIPAA and OSHA required
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patient, compassionate nature
- Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and other nurses
- Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems
Experience:
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) certification strongly preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience required
- Rheumatology or Oncology experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
