Experienced, dedicated and compassionate technician wanted for busy specialty oncology practice.
Integrative Veterinary Oncology (IVO) offers both eastern and western approaches to cancer treatment in dogs and cats including surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, ozone and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. We also see non-cancer patients for alternative therapies. IVO also has a thriving foster program for dogs and cats and works closely with area rescue groups and the county shelters to provide care for injured or sick stray animals.
IVO is a high volume practice and desired candidate must be able to multi-task and thrive in a high stress environment. The desired candidate should be empathetic and compassionate as many of our patients are terminal and in need of end of life care.
Duties include but are not limited to: routine patient care, performing X-rays, administration of chemotherapy, rooming of appointments, calling owners regarding test results, training in hyperbaric oxygen therapy and ozone therapy, routine cleaning of facility and care of foster animals.
Hours are weekdays on a 4 day, 10 hour shift with hours of 7a-5p, 8a-6p and 9a-close (generally 7 pm) per week with the day off per week on the same day but may vary depending on other staff PTO requests. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the employee’s hourly rate.
