The EEG Technician I performs high quality EEGs and other diagnostic testing under supervision. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires. INTEGRIS Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
The EEG Technician I responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Performs EEGs including portable recordings as well as electrocerebral silence recordings (ECS) for the determination of brain death, 24-hour ambulatory monitoring, evoked potential testing and telephonic transmissions, assist position during special procedure such as activation seizure and nerve conduction and EMG test.
- Prepares technical and descriptive reports of EEGs recorded for use by the electroencephalographer, schedules of appointments, edits all diagnostic procedures and maintains files and charges test procedures Reports to the Department Director or Vice President. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. The occurrence to jam fingers and hands while maneuvering machines is highly feasible. When applying electrodes, using collodion, caution should be used as this substance is highly flammable and produces noxious fumes. Scalp electrodes are soaked in sodium hypochlorite, which has noxious fumes and tends to stain personal clothing. Required to wear universal protective clothing when in contact with highly contagious and infectious patients. May be in contact with bodily fluids from patients. - 1 year of formal training in an accredited program offered at a technical school, OR in an EEG laboratory with a Board Certified Electroencephalographers on staff OR met the competency requirements as established by the Neuro Diagnostic Services department as an EEG Tech Trainee with INTEGRIS Health.

- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written)
