The Housekeeper Lead is responsible for all functions of employees in their assigned areas and for ensuring that quality Housekeeping and Patient Assistant Liaison services are provided to patients and other customers. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires. The Housekeeper Lead responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assists in supervising department staff, including hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating performance and competency, and conducting disciplinary/counseling sessions as needed
- Ensures that all employees are equipped to complete their work, and that the equipment is maintained
- Monitors and maintains quality improvement by completing room inspections and guest interviews; keeps managers informed of results, and initiates staff retraining where necessary.
- Ensures that housekeeping carts, closets and department stock levels are maintained for proper work usage in accordance with department needs. Orders supplies and products as directed.
- Processes daily lead reports and closes service request reports. Places work orders when needed.
- Monitors bed tracking system as to meet or exceed standard goals * Performs general Housekeeper cleaning functions according to established procedures and schedules The Housekeeper Lead reports to the assigned Hospitality Service Manager This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, chemicals. Must follow standard precautions.
- 1 year of previous experience in housekeeping or other service-oriented industry
- Knowledge of basic math
- Computer experience preferred
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
