The Supervisor Housekeeping 1 supervises the housekeeping staff, hires, schedules, trains and counsel's staff. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires. INTEGRIS Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
The Supervisor Housekeeping 1 responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Supervises department staff, including hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating performance and competency, and conducting disciplinary/counseling sessions as needed
- Inspects assigned work area after work has been completed and verifies that all work has been done in compliance with established procedures
- Assists supervisors of other department in resolving housekeeping problems; makes periodic reviews of existing schedules, practices, and policies; and recommends changes to ensure efficient and cost-effective use of supplies and equipment
- Ensures that equipment and supplies are available and in good operating order, tests new equipment as instructed, and brings new material to the attention of the Director of Hospitality Services or hospital administration for possible utilization
- Controls the use of materials to maintain expenses within the allocated budget Reports to assigned Manager or Director. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Exposed to wet floors, exposure to hazardous chemicals, and potential exposure to blood borne pathogens through puncture or mishap. Hazards are minimal if safety procedures are utilized. - Additional vocational or higher education preferred especially in relation to hospitality industry
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- 3 years housekeeping experience
- 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
- Supervisory experience in a hospital or institutional environment preferred
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)
