Job Description
Data Services provides the foundational platforms for the company's key data assets. Are you excited to solve problems with a global footprint and scale measured in petabytes, billions of records and thousands of updates per second? Our client is seeking a Senior Platform Architect to join their team, working across the organization to understand business opportunities, current solutions, and future technology opportunities for their core data platform.
This role requires a unique blend of database expertise and application development experience , with a focus on designing and implementing robust, scalable, and high-performance data platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data models, database technologies, and data integration principles, while also having experience with API design, microservices architecture, and application development best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and evolution of the company's data platform. This includes :
Evaluating the existing Hadoop and adjacent ecosystem, including its architecture, infrastructure, and performance, to identify challenges in migration and areas of improvement.
Communicate strategic-level vision to upper management and technical direction to development teams, building out a shared understanding and roadmap for the platform's future.

This position is a Platform Architect - not a Data Architect. This is a 3 day in office hybrid. No relocation or sponsorship at this time. Must have very good communication skills. Open to eliminating Hadoop as a consideration criteria for the role and focusing on large scale data through Cassandra, MongoDB, AWS DynamoDB, Azure Data Tables, etc.; balance between that DB skill and application experience, like API design.
