Our client, a leading provider of high-performance RF amplifiers and signal processing solutions for the military and telecommunications industries, is experiencing significant growth. To capitalize on this momentum and achieve ambitious revenue targets, they are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Vice President of Operations to lead and transform their operational capabilities.
About the Role
The VP of Operations will play a critical role in driving the company's success by implementing best-in-class engineering and operational processes, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring efficient and profitable growth. This is a hands-on leadership position that requires a strong understanding of manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain management within the aerospace and defense industry.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operational Excellence : Lead the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, optimize production workflows, and drive continuous improvement across all operational areas.
- Engineering Leadership : Foster a culture of engineering excellence by implementing robust design and development processes, including adherence to industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, Mil-Specs).
- Supply Chain Management : Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
- Financial Performance : Drive operational efficiency and profitability through cost optimization, inventory control, and improved production yields.
- Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of operations professionals.
- Strategic Planning : Develop and execute strategic operational plans to support the company's growth objectives.
- Compliance : Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including ITAR, NIST, and Phipps.
- Culture Building : Foster a high-performance culture that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications :
15 years of progressive experience in operations leadership roles within the aerospace and defense or related industries.Proven track record of success in leading and transforming operations within a manufacturing environment.Deep understanding of RF / Microwave technology and manufacturing processes.Experience with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.Strong project management and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Strong leadership and mentorship skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES).Experience with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.Experience with military and government contracting.MBA or other relevant advanced degree.Benefits :
