Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Verification of Benefits and Medical Records Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying patients’ insurance benefits and accurately submitting medical records to third-party commercial insurance companies. The ideal candidate will have experience working with insurance companies, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of healthcare documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient insurance benefits and coverage for services provided.
- Submit medical records accurately and promptly to third-party commercial insurance companies.
- Follow up on submitted records to ensure successful processing and timely reimbursement.
- Communicate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal staff to resolve discrepancies or issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all verifications and submissions.
- Stay updated on current insurance guidelines, regulations, and payer requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 1–2 years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or a related field.
- Knowledge of commercial insurance plans and healthcare documentation standards.
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and insurance portals.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
