What are the responsibilities and job description for the Verification of Benefits Specialist position at Integrity Billing Company?
Integrity Billing is a national leader in providing specialized Revenue Cycle Management services to substance use disorder and mental health facilities and offices.
We are seeking an experienced benefits associate to perform live verification of benefits and prepare medical records to submit to the health insurance payers.
Previous experience with interpreting health benefits is highly desirable as the benefits information is critical to our clients admitting patients into care.
At times the payers will require that a medical record be submitted in order to make a determination on the claim payment. This associate is also required to print the record, evaluate for appropriateness and seek clinical feedback from our utilization department as needed to ensure the record is submitted correctly.

Knowledge of substance use and mental health treatment services is a plus.
- Contact insurance companies to obtain claim status information and/or health insurance benefits.
- Work in tandem with other departments for appeal denials and hold the insurance payers accountable to pay for the services that were provided to their members.
- Utilize a myriad of electronic benefits portals and systems while waiting to speak to a live representative.
- Based upon experience, be able to determine that the information the agent is providing is accurate.
- Have the ability to challenge information that you feel is inaccurate.
- Make follow-up calls to verify any inconsistencies in the original information.
- Respond to client's requests for additional information on existing claims billed or benefits information obtained from the employers.
- Prepare and submit medical records to insurance payers ensuring that all requesting documents are included.

The hours for these positions are flexible. What is your ideal shift? - We need people to work until 5pm and some work until 7pm - you tell us. Monday- Friday with a 30 minute meal period and also two 15 minute paid breaks. You are expected to be here and ready to work at the time your shift begins.
Salary: $16.00 to $18.00 /hour ( if you would like to make more, we will give you the opportunity to prove to us that you are determined to earn more}
