Responsibilities
- Assist the delivery driver in loading and unloading items from the delivery vehicle.
- Help secure cargo for safe transport, ensuring all items are properly organized and protected.
- Navigate delivery routes efficiently, providing support in route planning and adjustments as necessary.
- Communicate with customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays, ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary to facilitate loading and unloading processes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle and warehouse area.
- Follow all safety protocols while handling products and operating equipment.
Skills
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is preferred.
- Familiarity with driving box trucks or vans is a plus.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills to interact positively with clients during deliveries.
- Knowledge of route driving techniques for efficient navigation is beneficial.
- Experience with moving furniture or heavy items is an asset.
- Proficiency in using pallet jacks and forklifts for material handling tasks is desirable.
