Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer/Drafter to join our dynamic team and grow with us as we provide renovation and new construction services to clients throughout the Pioneer Valley. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and plans using Chief Architect. This role requires a strong understanding of design principles and the ability to translate concepts into detailed schematics that meet project specifications.
Duties
- Develop and prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings using Chief Architect.
- Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, engineers, and architects to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Create and modify designs based on client feedback, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
- Draft layouts, schematics, and technical documentation for construction projects.
- Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Maintain organized files of all drawings, revisions, and related documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals by providing necessary drawings and visual aids.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in drafting.
Qualifications
- Proficiency or ability to learn Chief Architect is essential.
- Preferred candidate would have a strong background in design, layout & presentation.
- Experience with Microsoft suite is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to produce permittable construction documents required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects & work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Good communication skills to effectively convey design ideas and project updates.
- Knowledge of local building codes & engineering practices preferred but not required.
- A degree or certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- CORI check required
- Valid Driver's License
