Integrity Educational Services is currently seeking a Full-Time Behavior Interventionist (Bachelors Degree required, MSW or LMSW preferred but not required) to serve Lighthouse Academy Eagle Village campus.

At Lighthouse Academy, we offer residential programs serving youth and adults in detention facilities, correctional facilities or intervention-based programs as well as community programs serving court-placed students, English Language Learners (ELL), students with Special Education needs, etc.

Lighthouse Academy - Eagle Village is partnered with Eagle Village Residential Facility which serves delinquent and trauma-impacted children through residential treatment, adoption and foster care, short-term interventions, and specialized summer camps, as well as a new day treatment program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assists and supports day to day instructional and behavioral interventions; provides positive redirection and support to students who exhibit inappropriate behavior in the classroom setting; goal is to move students to a less intensive behavior tier within a short period of time.

  • Collaborates with classroom teacher(s), facility staff, outside agencies, families, and others as needed for the purpose of creating and implementing behavior intervention plans as team.
  • Coordinates activities and has timely communication with the school’s responsibility thinking advisor.
  • Coordinates/maintains a productive daily schedule for the purpose of completing reports, instructional activities and other duties
  • Participates in and functions as a positive team member for the purpose of enhancing/sharing knowledge and skills for delivering best practices
  • Manages advanced disciplinary issues and secures assistance from appropriate staff/personnel as needed
  • Participates in a wide variety of academic, vocational, and motivational activities on campus; serves as advisor and positive role model for assigned students
  • Provides one-on-one tutoring and computer lab assistance as needed
  • Participates in the preparation of student educational development plans.
  • Supervises students in accordance with operational policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of all staff and students; performs all duties in compliance with all terms and conditions of contractual agreements
  • Completes/reviews reports and logs as required; including Incident Report forms
  • Instructs students in the general care and maintenance of school and equipment; may supervise the safe handling of program property and equipment according to establish policies and procedures ensuring all appropriate safety measures and precautions are observed
  • Adheres to all contract and state educational guidelines
  • Assists in the development and implementation of school policies and procedures
  • Supports all instructional activities with the classroom teacher.
  • Participates in the planning and direction of school operations in fulfilling the goals and objectives of the school
  • Assists in the establishment of policies and procedures to provide leadership and control in the event of a school crisis
  • Attend school related activities including, but not limited to, field trips, family dinners, school-related events with students/families, conferences and parent conferences.
  • Perform all other duties, as assigned

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters in a school environment. The employee routinely uses standard office/classroom equipment such as computers, tablets, smartboards, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information. The employee is frequently required to walk, and move about within the school. The employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Other Qualifications: Must pass criminal history records search, physical and drug screen, if required.

Training: Must participate in and complete annual training, Professional Development, and various other training as deemed appropriate for position.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: LMSW, MSW, LLP, LPC, BCBA, or Residential experience preferred but not required.

Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google applications and/or willingness to learn needed computer skills specific to this position.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Mathematic Skills: Ability to do simple computations, calculate percentages, and use a calculator.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, parents, and other employees of the organization.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelors Degree Required and one to two years of experience within an educational or youth service program, preferably working with troubled youth in a residential setting; or any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Masters of Social Work (LMSW or MSW) degree preferred but not required.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
