Activity Assistant / Activities Assistant
Integrity Healthcare Communities is seeking an Activities Assistant at our Skilled Nursing Facility in Herrin, Illinois.
This position is responsible for the smooth operation of planned, scheduled recreational activities for our Skilled Nursing Facility.
General duties include;
1. Teach and lead planned activities (generally 2-3 per day), using materials and
equipment provided. Some activities will require prior planning and gathering of
necessary materials.
2. Assist the Activity Director with planning of monthly activity calendar, and
compilation and distribution of that calendar.
3. Provide one-to-one visits with residents, as scheduled. Visits could include
reminiscing, reality awareness, socialization, or educational activities.
7. Supervise and direct volunteers as needed.
8. Maintain Bulletin Boards to ensure that information posted is current and
organized.
10. Encourage residents to participate in activities by informing them of daily
activities.
11. Escort residents to daily activities.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Skills and Abilities: Must have good communication skills and the ability to work as a
team player. Be flexible and willing to adapt, as necessary.
Experience: Prior experience working with seniors, leading, and planning of activities is helpful but not necessary.
