Integrity Healthcare Communities is seeking a Payroll Specialist in our Maryville, Illinois Office.
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for all tasks involved in processing payroll. The payroll specialist has a range of duties that include collecting timesheets, calculation wages, and ensuring employees receive their pay on time. Position requires efficiency, organization, high attention to detail, and strict adherence to confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collecting and verifying timesheets, spreadsheets, and various forms. Maintains file cabinets, copies, orders, and stocks all forms as needed
2. Entering employee information and payroll data into the payroll system.
3. Answering employees’ questions and concerns regarding payroll.
4. Calculating payable hours, bonuses, taxes, and deductions.
5. Processing new employees, promotions, and terminations.
6. Issuing statements detailing earnings and deductions.
7. Issuing and delivering paychecks to employees as needed.
8. Investigation and resolving payroll discrepancies.
9. Maintaining and updating payroll records.
10. Preparing periodic payroll reports.
11. Photocopies as necessary
12. Maintains strict employee and resident confidentiality
13. Any other duties assigned by Administrative staff
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Ability to work with others and/or independently
2. Must be proficient in computer skills
3. Must possess good phone etiquette, a positive and friendly attitude and excellent communication skills
4. Must show the ability to read, write and understand English in order to follow oral and written instructions
5. Must treat co-workers and facility staff with kindness, dignity and respect.
6. Ability to remain calm and flexible in handling difficult situations
7. Ability to attend and participate in orientation, training, educational activities and staff meetings as required. Must have the ability to understand and apply training and in-service education
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. High School diploma/GED.
3. Previous experience with payroll preferred.
4. Strong attention to detail.
5. Good math and communication skills.
6. Strong organization skills.
7. Team player.
