Job Description
The Survey Crew Chief will oversee field survey operations, ensuring accurate data collection and adherence to safety standards. This role involves operating and calibrating survey equipment, managing field staff, and interpreting construction plans.
Responsibilities:
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain survey equipment.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency in survey tasks.
- Read, understand, and interpret construction plans.
- Utilize and train others on survey-related technology.
- Work outdoors and be available for overtime as needed.
- Maintain and organize survey trucks and equipment.
- Promote safety awareness and workflow improvements.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in surveying or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Crew Chief.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Proficiency in survey equipment operation and calibration.
- Comfortable working with technology and training others.
- Stable work history with a commitment to quality and efficiency.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with both private and municipal sectors.
- Willingness and ability to travel for projects as needed.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
