Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides essential support and assistance to individuals who need help with daily living activities due to age, illness, disability, or recovery from surgery. The role involves offering compassionate care while promoting independence and dignity for clients in their homes or assisted living environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist clients with personal hygiene (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting).
• Support mobility, including transfers, walking assistance, and use of mobility aids.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding, if necessary.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks (laundry, tidying up, changing bed linens).
• Monitor and remind clients about medications (under supervision, if required).
• Support clients with errands, grocery shopping, and transportation to appointments.
• Observe and report any changes in the client’s physical or emotional condition to supervisors or family members.
Qualifications & Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not always required).
• Previous experience in caregiving or personal care is a plus.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic personality.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but may be required by employer).
• Background check and valid driver’s license (if applicable).
