Job Summary
We’re seeking a meticulous and dedicated Commission Analyst to join our team. In this role, you’ll be the backbone of our sales commission process, pulling together commission and client reports, organizing data, and ensuring weekly commission imports are accurate and timely. You’ll use your sharp analytical skills to identify discrepancies in sales reporting and drive improvements in our processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Sales Commissions: You’ll be responsible for calculating and administering sales commissions, ensuring that all compensation aligns with our established incentive plans and organizational guidelines.
Data Management: You’ll organize data from multiple sources, checking for congruency and errors. You’ll also manage imports into our internal commission system.
Record Keeping: You’ll create and maintain detailed records of all transactions, past and present.
Commission Plans: You’ll develop an in-depth understanding of all commission plans across your assigned Business Units.
Report Analysis: You’ll gather commission and sales reports from various insurance carriers, analyze and audit production reports to ensure accuracy and eligibility for commission calculations.
Process Improvement: You’ll identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement within the department.
Reporting/Data Structure: You’ll work on fixing current reporting/data structures and identify ways to continually refine and improve commission accuracy and increase efficiency.
Compliance: You’ll ensure that commission cycles follow published schedules, commission schedules, company policies, and procedures.
Audits and Payments: You’ll work with insurance carrier’s commissions data in performing audits and statements, manage the monthly payment process of carrier commissions, and perform audits of data.
Carrier Rules: You’ll understand various carrier rules and reporting to assist agents through the process.
Project Assistance: You’ll assist with various department projects.
Primary Skills & Requirements:
Educational Background: A degree in Business Administration or Accounting is advantageous, but we also value equivalent practical experience.
Industry Experience: Prior experience in the insurance industry, particularly in areas such as commissions, accounting, or sales, can be beneficial. However, this is not a strict requirement, and we welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds
Technical Proficiency: Mastery of Microsoft Excel is essential for this role.
Attention to Detail: The ability to maintain a high level of precision in your work is crucial.
Analytical Abilities: We’re looking for individuals with robust analytical skills, excellent business judgment, and the capacity to effectively communicate with management.
Teamwork: A collaborative working style is key. You should be comfortable working with both external and internal teams.
Process Improvement: If you can spot a process that needs improvement and know how to make it better, you’re the kind of person we’re looking for.
Innovative Thinking: The ability to think outside the box and bring fresh ideas to the table is highly valued.
