Position Overview
Integrity is seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal to join our in-house legal department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in litigation and dispute resolution, with a focus on strategically and administratively assisting with legal disputes efficiently and effectively.
Primary Responsibilities
Matter and Document Management: Track deadlines and manage schedules related to litigation activities, organize and maintain matters, including legal filings, correspondence, and invoices
Online Matter Platform Management: Populate and maintain online matter management tool
Drafting: Assist in drafting legal documents such as motions, briefs, and discovery requests, as well as dispute correspondence such as demand letters and responses to the same
Service of Process Management: Manage and distribute all incoming service of process documents received
Subpoenas: Take lead on responding to subpoenas and request for information, including working with internal clients to identify and produce responsive documents
Legal/Litigation Holds: Draft and distribute legal/litigation holds as necessary
Insurance Claims: Initiate and work with insurance broker for any insurance claim that needs to be noticed, including closing out claims
Discovery Support: Help with the discovery process, including preparing and responding to requests, reviewing documents, and organizing evidence
Communication: Liaise between internal clients, external counsel, and various stakeholders
Required Competencies
Thorough knowledge of litigation processes in both state and federal courts, including a strong understanding of civil procedures, rules of evidence, and litigation best practices
Familiarity with legal software, case management systems, and e-discovery tools
Excellent written and communication skills, and the ability to identify, initiate and conclude strategic objectives in a collaborative, team-based “no ego” environment
Ability to establish productive, trusting working relationships with individuals and teams both inside and outside the organization
Ability to think and work at both strategic and tactical levels
Orientation towards process improvement, growth and best in class people, process and technology solutions
Passion for service and a desire to invest in employees
Excellent time management given high demand on time
Education and Experience
An associate degree in paralegal studies or a related field is required; a bachelor’s degree preferred
5-10 years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm with hands-on experience
Certification from a recognized paralegal organization (e.g., NALA, NFPA) preferred
