Position Overview
The Director of Business Development will spearhead efforts to expand the company’s footprint in building maintenance and janitorial services. This role is critical to ensuring clean, safe, and fully operational facilities for a wide array of commercial clients. The Director will guide new business acquisition, develop innovative client solutions, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver seamless building maintenance and janitorial services that directly enhance client environments and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- New Business Development
- Identify and target prospective clients with a specific focus on those needing comprehensive building maintenance and janitorial services.
- Highlight the importance of cleanliness, maintenance, and environmental safety in client proposals to position the company as a leader in facilities management.
- Develop tailored service solutions, including janitorial care, preventative maintenance, and specialized service offerings, aligned with client needs.
- Client Retention
- Build and sustain long-term relationships by ensuring clients consistently experience the value of top-tier building maintenance and janitorial services.
- Work closely with internal teams to proactively address client concerns related to facility cleanliness, maintenance schedules, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead conversations with clients to explore expanded service opportunities, such as seasonal maintenance or specialized janitorial programs.
- Strategic Business Development Planning
- Attend industry events and conferences to identify trends impacting building maintenance and environmental hygiene standards.
- Provide insights on emerging cleaning technologies and maintenance solutions to differentiate the company in the marketplace.
- Align business development efforts with trends in building upkeep, energy efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
- Management and Research
- Maintain and update CRM data to track potential leads for building maintenance and janitorial service expansions.
- Monitor and analyze client satisfaction to identify gaps and recommend service enhancements in maintenance and cleaning processes.
- Ensure proposals are aligned with best practices in custodial care, maintenance management, and health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 5–8 years of sales experience, with at least 3–5 years in the Facilities Services industry.
- Proven Business Development experience in the Commercial Market with a deep understanding of Building Maintenance and Janitorial Services.
- Demonstrated success in selling single, multiple, or bundled service solutions.
- Experience with CRM systems and sales forecasting tools.

Additional Information
